Getting Listed on Medway Art FAQ

  1. What is Medway Art?
    Medway Art provides a simple and very cost-effective means for local artists and other local art resources to get seen (or seen more!) online. The NEW Medway Art not only allows a diectory listing but also provides a means to display your artwork, news, notices and images on your own page. Its primary geographic emphasis is Maidstone & Medway areas but subscribers from anywhere in Kent are welcome!
  2. How many images can I display on my page?
    All Standard Annual Listings = 10. Events/Exhibition Notices = 4.
  3. After listing can I change the information and images on my page?
    Yes! Anytime! You’ll receive an access key you can use to sign in and change your listing.
  4. Is my listing permanent?
    No. Listings (in any category) can be made for either ONE YEAR (Standard Listing for most purposes) or 90 DAYS (suitable for short term events / exhibition notices).
    [Exception: If you previously paid to be listed on the original Medway Art your listing will continue to be permanent - as promised!].
  5. How much does a listing costs?
    Annual Standard Listing: £25.
    90 Day Events/Exhibition Notices: £3.50.
  6. How do I make payment?
    The payment will be made during the listing process. It will be processed via our PayPal account (in the name of On-The-Web-Now! & Medway Art). All major credit cards can be used this way (but if you happen to have a PayPal account the checkout process will be slightly quicker for you).
  7. Will my listing and payment be automatically renewed?
    No! Personally, I hate it when I’m automatically opted in for payment renewals!
  8. What happens when my listing period expires?
    We’ll contact you and offer you the opportunity to renew.
  9. Do you have any advice about my listing?
    Yes.
    1. Give a good and as full as possible description text and use and re-use any ’keyword’ or key-phrase’ you think might stand out.
    2. Unless you’re already a graphic designer or digital photo expert read our short tip on best preparation of images 
  10. Are there any specific restrictions on the site?
    YES. In brief: NO: nudity/sexualised content, graphic violence, offensive language/imagery.

  11. What can I do if I have questions, problems or just need help getting listed?
    Using the site will be easy for some people but others may need a little help to get listed. You can contact us at anytime with any question or problem and if you like we can upload your listing for you – just ask – there’s no extra charge!

Medway Art was created by and is currently managed by On-The-Web-Now! (local website design services). The original website was created in 2005. After creating several websites for artists it occured to me that it would be a good resource for artists in the area to be able to further promote their websites or get online without the time and expense of having a fully custom personal website. By including art resourses as well as artists’ pages Medway Art can provide a truly valuable asset to all. With enough listings costs for time (building , maintaining, promoting) are kept low and the number of visitors are increased. Last year Medway Art received nearly 3 thousand LOCAL visitors, it is my hope that the NEW Medway Art will see an even greater number of relevant visitors in 2012.
