Graham I Lock
A figurative painter, Graham works in many media, but is best known for his watercolours for which he has won numerous awards.
‘A painting is a visual communication, so I want my paintings to speak for themselves. I paint anything that grabs my attention, and subjects are often quite ordinary scenes. My aim, though, is to paint not only what I see, but also to communicate what caught my interest – perhaps a particular atmosphere, a juxtaposition of colours, an unusual play of light, a pattern of repeated shapes, a certain quirkiness, or the subject’s inherent beauty.’
Graham exhibits mainly in Kent and London, but he has paintings in private collections throughout the UK and Europe, and in the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand
